About Escape Haven

Escape Haven is the most awarded women’s retreat in Bali. Having run luxury women’s retreats for more than 15 years, the team has extensive experience in hosting women from Australia, New Zealand, UK, and the US at the all-inclusive retreat in Canggu.

Escape Haven has won a long list of awards including the Best Luxury Retreat Globally, Best Luxury Women’s Yoga Retreat, and Best Luxury Wellness & Yoga Retreat by the World Luxury Hotel Awards and LUXLife, and is continuously innovating to cater to women – whether it be in the form of a spa retreat, healing, longevity, menopause, grief, or activities like yoga, surfing, or Pilates.

The Challenge

Escape Haven has had a long history of working with SEO agencies and benefitting from organic traffic for lead generation. When Escape Haven approached Safari Digital in late 2024, there were a number of challenges faced – which is not uncommon for a site of this calibre and age.

  • There were too many pages targeting the same keywords (keyword cannibalisation)
  • The site relied too heavily on informational blog articles for traffic
  • Blog articles were drastically declining in organic traffic
  • Newer blog articles were being generated with AI tools, impacting the site’s overall content quality

Working with Escape Haven meant developing a strategy to reduce reliance on informational traffic and increase reliance on transactional keywords. The goal was two-fold:

  • 1. Improve overall site quality, and
  • 2. Ensure that the traffic that was coming onto the site included more motivated, high-value users who were genuinely interested in making a booking.

The Strategy

  • Rewrite and consolidate competing retreat packages pages. Ensure that each retreat package was aligned with a non-branded, relevant keyword that users were using to find, research, and book a retreat.
  • Improved keyword targeting for topline, high value, “Bali Retreat” keywords.
  • Content pruning of all low quality, underperforming content. Ensuring that all content on the site was high-quality and related directly back to Escape Haven’s retreat offerings.
  • Research emerging trends in women’s health and wellness generally to help Escape Haven cater to growing market in areas like longevity, menopause, and healing.
  • Create more sustainability for the site in an inherently seasonal market.

The Results

Given the seasonal nature of the business, it’s important that we measure success through Year on Year figures to get a true sense of traffic growth in line with user demand.

  • Retreat page visits nearly doubled year-on-year, with organic search clicks up 85.5% from Google search results
  • Within the first three months of starting SEO, organic traffic grew by 56%
  • Traffic was 31% higher on average across the whole of 2025, compared to the same periods Year-on-Year
  • Across 75 tracked keywords, average position is 5.1
  • Consistent top 3 rankings for topline “Bali Retreat” keywords for sustained periods (~10 months)
  • Blog traffic has gone from driving 38% of all clicks, to less than 20%
  • Non-blog pages (retreat/transactional pages) previously accounted for 62% of traffic, and now drive 80% of traffic
  • For organic traffic, 4 out of 5 visitors arrive via a retreat or service page
  • User key event rate (the rate in which users interact with key events like form submissions, booking links, and contacting the sales team) has grown by 181% from late 2024 to early 2026
  • User key event rate indicates that 25% of all organic users are leads in early 2026
