Captain Green is an Australian owned and operated solar retailer and installer for solar panels, batteries, and complete solar systems. Based in Sydney, NSW, Captain Green has a national network and provides solar solutions for commercial and retail customers in every major city across Australia.
The Challenge
Captain Green wanted to increase traffic and drive organic enquiries for solar panels in every major city in Australia. When they approached us, Captain Green had a basic SEO framework with thin location and product pages for the locations that they wanted to rank in.
Our Approach
Our approach included a mix of transactional content for search terms such as:
- “Solar Panels + Location”
- “X-kW Solar System”
Across individual product and location landing pages. These pages were the key breadwinners for the campaign and would drive high-value traffic nationwide. Although Captain Green had some of these pages, none were strong enough to compete in a highly competitive industry. All pages were rewritten with a uniform structure that highlighted key product information and delivered genuine value to users.
In addition to these “transactional” pages, we also created a series of mid-funnel blog posts that addressed users in the decision-making phase of the buying cycle. The goal of these posts was to build trust and brand awareness with a short funnel to conversion.
